Protek Systems was appointed to deliver a comprehensive structured cabling and containment solution as part of a major office fit-out in Zurich. The project supported a multi-floor corporate environment with high performance, resilience and future scalability as core requirements.

Scope of Works

The project covered the full passive network infrastructure, including:

Structured Cabling

• Installation of Cat6A copper cabling for horizontal and backbone connectivity

• High-density cabling to support workstation outlets, wireless access points and specialist IT areas

• Structured to international standards and client specifications

Fibre Infrastructure

• Supply and installation of fibre housings and termination hardware

• Backbone fibre cabling to support inter-floor and core network connectivity

• Designed to enable future expansion without disruption

Network Termination & Patching

• Installation of patching frames and panels within communications rooms

• Structured, labelled and documented to enterprise standards

• Ready for immediate integration with active network equipment

Consolidation & Distribution Points

• Deployment of COPs (Consolidation Points)

• GOPs (General Outlet Points) and WOPs (Workstation Outlet Points) installed across office areas

• Consistent outlet strategy to support flexible workspace layouts

Containment Systems

• Full containment installation including basket, tray and associated accessories

• Coordinated with ceiling, mechanical and electrical services

• Installed to maintain accessibility, airflow and long-term maintainability

Preliminaries & Site Management

• Site setup, access coordination and inductions

• Compliance with local regulations and site safety requirements

• Ongoing coordination with the main contractor and client teams

Delivery & Programme

The works were delivered over an approximately six-week programme, structured by floor to align with the wider construction schedule.

• Multiple floors delivered in parallel where required

• Two engineers on site per floor, Monday to Friday, throughout the main delivery phase

• Flexible sequencing to accommodate changes in access and other trades

This approach allowed the client to maintain programme certainty while retaining adaptability as the project evolved.

• Clear labelling and structured routing for ease of future maintenance
